Dear Visitor,
As Headteacher of Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website. I hope you find all the information you need, along with a glimpse into the life of our wonderful school. At Rhiw Syr Dafydd, we are incredibly proud to be at the heart of our local community.
We are fortunate to have a team of highly skilled, dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure that our children enjoy coming to school, feel happy and supported, and are inspired to work hard every day to achieve their dreams. The commitment and support of our staff, parents, governors and PTA are phenomenal, and we are incredibly grateful for the important role they play in making our school such a special place.
Our school mission is ‘Respectful, Sharing, Determined, Passionate’. These values are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to develop ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives, as well as ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the wider world.
From the moment our children join us in Nursery, we encourage them to develop a growth mindset, embracing challenges, learning from their experiences and recognising that mistakes are valuable opportunities to grow. We want our pupils to be resilient, believe in themselves and persevere beyond their perceived limits. By encouraging them to aim high and challenge themselves, we help them discover that, with determination and the right support, what once seemed impossible can become possible.
Rhiw Syr Dafydd is a vibrant and inclusive learning community where pupils demonstrate positive attitudes towards learning and engage enthusiastically in both independent and collaborative activities. From an early age, our children develop confidence, independence and a genuine love of learning. They are polite and respectful towards adults and one another, showing kindness, care and consideration for those around them. Our outstanding ethos and strong sense of belonging create a supportive environment in which every child is valued and where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand.
There is so much more I could share about our amazing school, but perhaps the best way to truly appreciate what makes Rhiw Syr Dafydd so special is to experience it for yourself. This website offers just a small window into the heart of our school, so I warmly invite you to open the door, come and visit us, and see our school at its very best.
We look forward to welcoming you to Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School!
